SARAH JANE LUSK MA. INTEGRATIVE
PSYCHOTHERAPY (HONS), HIGHER
DIPLOMA COUNSELLING AND
PSYCHOTHERAPY (HONS). MIACP. RCNI.

Hello and welcome to my website. I offer Counselling, Psychotherapy and Supervision in Limerick City and Ennis Town Centre. I am an accredited Counsellor with the Irish Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (IACP) and am also accredited with the Rape Crisis Network of Ireland (RCNI). I initially trained with the Tivoli Institute having been awarded a Psychotherapy H. Dip. (Honours). Further to this, I trained with the Rape Crisis Network for two years, specialising in Sexual Trauma therapy. Finally, I completed my training as an Integrative Psychotherapist having been awarded an Honours MA with Cork Institute of Technology.

I am a qualified EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) therapist and use this as part of my therapy practice when appropriate. EMDR helps to process disturbing experiences which may cause flashbacks, nightmares and panic attacks to an adaptive state of resolution.

I specialise in Trauma Therapy and help clients to resolve both Simple and Complex trauma issues as well as working with PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder).

Healthy functioning is often rooted in childhood attachment experiences; it can therefore influence our relationships with others when we become adults. I work with issues such as anxiety, depression, mood problems, relationships, anger management and identity issues. I have many years’ experience working with adults, older adolescence and groups.

My work history includes 10 years facilitating men’s groups for the MOVE (Men Overcoming Violent Emotions) organisation, a domestic violence programme directed at men who abuse their partners. This allows me to help men and women to understand, reshape and explore the dynamics of their relationships thus facilitating healthy outcomes and choices for those who choose to remain with their partners.

Having delivered the Parents Plus Programme to groups of parents for many years, I possess the tools and techniques to facilitate clients who are experiencing parental challenges within their families.

Other training includes art therapy, motivational interviewing, working with suicidal feelings. I have a particular interest in mental health and lifestyle, focusing on how diet impacts on mood and wellbeing. I help clients to identify resources that will support them during the work and provide psycho-education to help the client understand their issues and how to move forward to resolution and integration.
